Michael Kozlowski’s New York Metro boxing Champions

Last Friday was the second part of the New York Metro Boxing Championship finals. This tournament is the first step for the Big Apple boxers to the go to the USA Nationals, where they will have the chance to qualify for the 2012 Olympic Boxing Team.
In the first segment of the Metro finals (Saturday, November 4th), Michael Kozlowski’s 114 lb boxer, Juan Roman, won by 2nd round TKO against the 2010 New York Golden Glove finalist, Jason Benn. Juan beat the 2010 New York Golden Glove Champion, Jorgan Rodriguez, in the Metro semifinals.
On Friday, November 10, Michael Kozlowski’s other fighter, Jeremy Fiorentino, also won the New York Metro Championship in the 152lb weight category! Jeremy Fiorentino won four fights to claim this title, with the final bout against Tyrone James proving to be the most challenging. This fight was one of the best fights of the night! From the beginning of round one to the last bell of the fight the whole crowd was standing and cheering!
The New York Metro champions qualified for the Regionals which will take place in early February in Lake Placid, NY. The winners of the Regionals will advance to the USA Boxing National Championships.
