79th Annual New York Golden Gloves Victories

In the 79th annual New York Golden Gloves, the oldest amateur tournament in the world, 5 of my students won gold medals in Madison Square Garden. Twin brothers, Khabir and Sabir Suleymanov, made history as they both took the gold in the men’s novice 119 lb division
My boxer, Yelena Binder, won the 132 lb female division, becoming the first Russian speaking woman to win the Golden Gloves.
Raven Roytblat, my other female boxer, won the gold in the 138 lb weight class.
Shemuel Pagan, who I co-train with his father, brought me the gold in the 119 lb men’s open division.
In the 79 years of the New York Golden Gloves, only 5 Russian speaking people ever won. Four of them (all except Dmitry Salita) are my boxers.
