Jill Emery makes history in Ireland

June 21, 2007, Dublin, Ireland. A history accompanied the first professional women’s bout held in Ireland but that’s where the glitz ended. Having cut her teeth at such salubrious venues as a Club Med in Florida and a National Guard Armoury in Dorchester Massachusetts, Jill Emery recorded a comfortable points victory over London based Russian Angel McKenzie.

Emery dominated the fight from the start, landing with pretty much any punch she wished, before McKenzie managed to open a cut on Emery’s forehead in the sixth round. Having cleaned herself up.
