In one of November days 2014, boxing trainer, Michael Kozlowski, has received an e-mail from Russia in which his students-prospects of 90′s, Timofey Kurgin and Alexander Malkov, invited their trainer with his wife on, organized by them, boxing Tournament in “Memory of Boxers, who were killed in 90′s”, which were their friends in boxing team and students of “Chief”, that’s how students have christened Michael Alekseevich Kozlowski, in dashing 90′s…

More than 20 years has passed already as Michael Kozlowski left Russia, but memory of his students, and also of his former prospects, Evgenyi Kirillov, Andrey Moskvichev, Michael Tolstov, victims of 90′s and early left this World, through illness, Sergey Galyagin, constantly resurrected in memory of trainer “Coach Mike” Kozlowski those days, when all of them, still yellow-beaked boys, crossed a threshold of a boxing hall in hope, that the trainer will make them Champions…

On first of December, Michael Kozlowski and his wife, Olesya Malyuta, stepped onto the Russian land. But the pleasure from a forthcoming meeting with students, who were picking up trainer at the airport, has been a little saddened, when on passport control of International airport “Sheremetyevo”, Michael Kozlowski was asked to come to the customs office for inquiry…

About two hours, the Russian-American citizen, was held without the announcement of the reasons of detention in a special room and, at last, was informed that from 1996 Citizen of the Russian Federation, Michael Kozlowski, was in Federal search…

To Michael Kozlowski’s surprise there was no limit, because in 2006, 2010, 2011 repeatedly crossed border of the Russian Federation…

After a few hours of detention by Department of Internal Affaits (OVD) at the “Sheremetyevo” airport, Michael Kozlowski was taken to Kolomna City to meet with investigator. At 1 o’clock in the morning, with a subscription about not to leave country, boxing trainer was released, and now he has to go back to Moscow where, in the day after, he should give Master class in “Boxing Academy”.
After 38 hours without sleep, including flight from New York to Moscow, Kozlowski’s couple, at last, has reached a bed…

On Wednesday, December 3rd, Boxing Trainer, Michael “Coach Mike” Kozlowski, gave a Master class in “Boxing Academy”, in Luzhniki, Moscow.

The Soviet trainer, who has created, for more than 15 years of trainer’s career in the USA, the system of preparation of the champions, incorporation of best of two boxing schools: Soviet and American, shared his experience in front of trainers and boxers…

Michael Kozlowski was pleased to see among the trainers, one of the Great World experts, Vasily Ivanovich Filimonov! Under the leadership of this Soviet trainer, Italian national boxing team has made unprecedented breakthrough of all history in amateur boxing, winning two Gold Medals and one Bronze in the World championship 2007, one Gold, one Silver and one Bronze on Olympic Games 2008! By scientific books of this expert, boxing trainer, Michael Kozlowski, with success brought to peak of the International level Champions of Israel and the USA, in the countries where there is no traditional national team, where no gathering and where champions prepare individually, without any plans…

A pleasant surprise for Michael Kozlowski on Master class was a meeting, after more than twenty years, with his student and truly Great Champion of Russian Federation of 1991, Sergey Grigoriev. Also to as a former Russian, and now American trainer, “Coach Mike” was flatter to see among present, one of the most titled boxers for all history of amateur boxing of Russia, and now the Head coach of an Olympic Boxing team of Russia, the Olympic Champion, the World and European boxing champion, Alexander Lebzyaka!

Could not have caught an eye, that discipline and respect, both, to trainers, and to champions, of Russian boys…

– “That is what I’m missing in my children’s boxing, in America, where children, in the majority, not so seriously approach to trainings and where absolutely no primary respect for the trainer…” – Coach Mike said to his Russian colleagues…

On December 5th, Michael Kozlowski has arrived to Kolomna City, where his trainer’s career 29 years ago has begun.

The trainer has arrived on a cemetery where in 1993, where he personally had to bury two perspective boxers, Evgenie Kirillov and Andrey Moskvichev…

Then Michael Kozlowski went to the city policy, where he was told, that flight back to America will be postponed, before the proceedings of legal investigation will end!…

But the police of Kolomna City hasn’t spoilt mood of boxing coach, Michael Kozlowski, it has only reminded him of those times, when police man called him “Trainer of bandits”, having forgotten, that the trainer has withdrawn hundreds of boys from street to boxing gym and tens of them finished Institutes, Military colleges, Universities or became the big businessmen…

In the evening, when Boxing trainer, Michael Kozlowski, has crossed a threshold of sports club, tens of his former students, which he did not see for more than 20 years, met him with shouts: – “Michael Alekseevich”! Were rushed to him… They were already adult men… The lump has risen to a throat of the trainer… He hugged them one by one and was ready to burst into tears with happiness!

Its was many of them! Some of them he could not recognize, because they were very grown up, for more, than 20 years after their last meeting… But still they were his boys…

Competitions were held at the highest level. Even that fact, that boxing matches were judged by one of the best judges of professional boxing of Russia, and in the past, Great Soviet Boxers, Evgenie Gorskov, Alexander Kalinkin and Baban Nadyrov, says a lot…

After the last battle of the first day, where boxers-professionals were participated, to American trainer, Michael Kozlowski, was given the right to name the Best Boxer of the evening.

It was recognized professional boxer, the master of sports, the Roman Seliverstov, who trains under the guidance of Michael Kozlowski’s student, the master of sports, Andrey Nosov… Andrey Nosov was one of the first students-champions, then still doing his first steps in a trainer’s field, Michael Kozlowski, who, in 1986г., has won the Gold Medal on superiority of Russian Council VDSO “Work”, in Junior Olympics devision, in Bryansk City…

The next day of competitions, other Michael Kozlowski’s students has arrived, who for various reasons could not come at the first day of tournament…

Two days spent in Kolomna City, have flown by for Michael Kozlowski as one instant! The trainer, practically, did not have time to spend with his mother, who was at these competitions and has been overflowed by pride of the son.

All these days, spent in Russia, Michael Kozlowski did not have enough words to express gratitude to his first prospect of 90′s, Timofey Kurgin, who has incurred all expenses on carrying out of this tournament and presence on of his trainer.

Feeling of gratitude to the first prospect, Timofey Kurgin, who did not become the Big Champion in the ring, but became the Big Champion on life, overflowed Michael Kozlowski, when he was returning from Kolomna City to Moscow… But, after returning to Moscow, the trainer has not found the student in a city since Timofey Kurgin, on urgent affairs, was in thousand kilometres from capital of Russia… Business is business!.
