Ukrainian born boxers meet in the ring in USA!

The World is very small! Confirmation this old truism was the meeting in the ring two young fighters both born in Ukraine! Egor Plevako, who still lives there, was the 2008 National under-19 Ukraine Champion and 2008 bronze medalist under-19 World Championships in Mexico. Oleksandr “Sasha” Mamoshuk has spent many years in America where he became the 2005 National under-19 USA Champion. Sasha also won the USA National Junior Olympic Championships in 2004!

Egor Plevako won the Bronze medal in First AIBA Youth World Championships in Guadalajara, Mexico in 2008. In the semi-finals, he lost to an American, Joseph Dawejko, who went on to win the gold medal in the tournament. Dawejko currently fights professionally out of Philadelphia. His record is 3-0.

Egor Plevako come to New York City on summer holidays to learn about boxing in America. He trains with my students at the legendary Gleason’s Gym in Brooklyn, NY.
